About the Item

Porcelan vase realized by Franz Anton Mehlem in the late 19th Century in Bonn, Germany. The base shows the crowned shield mark with the initials “FAM” and the date “1755,” which is the founding date of the factory. Below it is marked “Bonn Germany.” This mark was used by the Franz Anton Mehlem factory, especially in the late 1800s until around 1920, when the factory was taken over by Villeroy Boch. It is decorated in blue-and-white transferware style, echoing traditional Delftware or Chinese-inspired patterns. The panels show floral bouquets in ornate vases and Landscaped trees with garden scenes. The pattern appears to be transfer-printed underglaze blue, a common technique at the time for producing detailed imagery on porcelain. Very good condition.
