About the Item
Before taking over the artistic direction of the Kéramis manufactory in Belgium in 1907, Catteau worked for Sèvres from 1903 and, starting in 1904, for the German manufactory of Nymphenburg and the Rambervillers manufactory in northern France. Crafted by Rambervillers from a design by Catteau, this Art Nouveau vase is glazed in rich earthen browns and features a design of crayfish in relief around its girth.
