Chinese Black and White Antique Pottery Vase/ Ming Dynasty /14th-15th Century

About the Item

This is a sake bottle made in China during the Ming Dynasty, 14th-15th century. The place is a kiln called "Cizhou ware", which is about 400 to 500 km south of Beijing, and it is baked around the kiln. (The part marked with a red circle on the map in the posted image is the Cizhou ware. ) Around 1910, an archaeological excavation was conducted on a town called "Kyoroku", which was submerged by a river flood in 1108. And it turned out that there was a large amount of porcelain with a previously unknown design. Its characteristic was that it was a very simple pottery made of white clay, hard unglazed, coated with white mud, and then covered with a transparent glaze. There was also a design with a black picture drawn on the white porcelain. And it turned out that there is a large ceramic industry around this town. That is the "Cizhou ware". Not only "Cizhou ware" but also other kilns made similar pottery. It was a pottery for many people to use, so it had to be baked in large quantities. And this is a brown painting on a white background that represents the characteristics of the Cizhou kiln. Sometimes it's a black painting, and sometimes it's a brown painting like this. I think it's the difference in the amount of iron in the glaze. This is a beautifully shaped vase that has been made in China since ancient times. (Since a similar item was published in the art book, the photograph is posted.) There was no water leakage. It is in very good condition with no major scratches. A wooden box is also included. It is a rare item. Few stores in 1stdibs carry such items. We sell with confidence. Also, I want many people to know the goodness of antiques, so I set the price reasonably. it's recommended!
