About the Item

Drawing on a long Chinese tradition of ceramics, this striking long-necked vase is cloaked in an all-over citron-yellow glaze. With a rounded, globular body and cylindrical neck, the large vase reinterprets the traditional gooseneck shape known as a "celestial ball vase" with clean lines and an understated sculptural presence. The striking yellow glaze nods to the Song dynasty (960–1279), when tastes shifted to monochrome glazes in single, statement-making colors. Each jar is hand-made. Dimensions vary slightly.
