About the Item

A contemporary terracotta vase crafted by French ceramist Nuria Alba. The hand-painted motif depicts a surrealist-inspired scene featuring a figure ascending a golden ladder under a celestial night sky accented with stars. Rich earthy tones and a textured patina enhance the organic, hand-crafted appeal of the piece. Nuria Alba, born in 1953 in Vilanova i la Geltrú, is a distinguished ceramic artist who studied ceramics at the renowned Forma School in Barcelona. Since 2007, she has also served as the mayor of Senan, where she resides and works. Her work integrates clay fired using raku and other reductive glazing techniques, enhanced with intricate decorative elements. Recently, she has developed a unique design language that harmoniously weaves natural forms inspired by femininity, geometric structures, and abstract motifs. Condition: Great vintage condition. Signed along the underside.
