About the Item
This ceramic piece is a contemporary homage to the timeless imagery of Eva Zeisel, one of the most influential figures in 20th-century design. Rather than imitating Zeisel’s style, Spanish artist Laura Molina (from Todomuta Studio) explores and reinterprets her design codes, creating a dialogue between past and present.
Molina carefully studied Zeisel’s signature curved sections and playful, organic geometries, translating them into her own clean volumes and sculptural forms. The result is a piece that reflects Molina’s contemporary sensibility while honoring Zeisel’s enduring vision. Like Zeisel, she favors the purity of white-finished ceramics, emphasizing an elegant simplicity that conceals sophisticated craftsmanship.
About the Artist
Laura Molina (b. 1974, Alicante, Spain) is a sculptor and designer recognized for her multidisciplinary career spanning art, design, and cultural heritage. Trained in sculpture and graphic arts, she has held leading roles in public institutions and private companies. From 2007 to 2011, she was director of artistic interventions at General de Producciones y Diseño S.A.
In 2011, Molina co-founded Todomuta Studio with designer and photographer Sergio Herrera, establishing an experimental practice at the intersection of art, design, and contemporary craft. She also serves as art director at Icaria Atelier, where her work continues to explore the expressive potential of objects. Her creations combine modernist inspiration, organic forms, and timeless elegance, positioning her among the new generation of Spanish designers with an international presence.
