About the Item

French Art Deco Stoneware Vase by DENERT BALICHON (Vierzon), France, Circa 1920. This exquisite tri-vase, crafted from flamed stoneware, is perfect for displaying small cut flowers and features the distinctive metallic reflections characteristic of Denbac pieces. The unique firing process creates one-of-a-kind colors, drips, and crystallizations, making each piece a work of art. Dimensions: Height: 6.3" (16 cm), Width: 4.3" (11 cm), Depth: 4.3" (11 cm). The Denbac manufacture, founded in 1909 by René Denert, became renowned for its innovative use of flamed stoneware, a natural clay that is fired at high temperatures (1250/1350°C), resulting in vitrified, waterproof, and durable objects. Denert joined forces with René-Louis Balichon in 1910, and together they revolutionized stoneware design, blending modern forms with artistic excellence. This particular piece, dating from the 1920s, exemplifies the Art Deco style while also reflecting the legacy of Denbac’s unique craftsmanship. Perfect for collectors of French Art Deco ceramics and lovers of rare stoneware, this vase brings timeless beauty and sophistication to any space.
