About the Item
This refined small vase was produced in the Netherlands during the post-war modernist period, circa 1955 - 1965. Crafted in glazed earthenware, it features a clean cylindrical form with a gently rounded shoulder and a subtly thickened rim, reflecting the restrained functionalist aesthetic that characterized Dutch ceramics of the mid-20th century.
The vase is finished in a soft off-white to light grey glaze, applied smoothly over the body, while the underside remains unglazed, revealing the warm orange earthenware typical of Dutch pottery from this period. The simple, balanced proportions and absence of decoration place the focus entirely on form and material, making it a timeless object that works equally well in modern and mid-century interiors.
Unmarked, as was common for many Dutch wholesale and design-driven pottery workshops of the era, the case likely produced by one of the prominent Dutch ceramic factories active in the 1950s-60s.
Very good vintage condition with minor surface wear consistent with age.
