About the Item

A rare and documented pewter and brass beaker by Danish artist and metalworker Mogens Ballin (1871–1914). This finely crafted piece exemplifies the influence of the Arts and Crafts movement in Denmark, with its elegant form, engraved details, and contrasting materials. The beaker is stamped MB and is featured in Mogens Ballin’s Værksted (Vejen Kunstmuseum, p. 178), confirming its authenticity and historical significance. Ballin, originally a painter, turned to metalwork in the late 19th century and became a key figure in Danish decorative arts, collaborating with Georg Jensen and others.
