Wonderful Art Nouveau vase by the artist Jean Garnier (born in Monzeuil 1853-1910).
This art work is called "En détresse", translated as " In need".
Depicted are two nudes or so called nymphs inside the water.
Signed on the side "J. Garnier".
Cast iron of a very nice quality.
This design was proposed in the catalog of the Grands Magasins du louvre of 1910.

Jean Garnier was born in Mouzeuil, France, in 1853. He was a 19th-century French sculptor best known for his bronze figures and decorative vessels. Garnier exhibited at the Salon des Artiste Français, winning an honorable mention in 1892. Garnier died in 1910 in Paris, France.
