About the Item

These lovely pair of Sèvres style porcelain vases exhibit finely detailed scenes to the front and back. The front of each vase with hand painted scenes of a mother and her children in an interior, the back sides painted with a cabin and scenery. Signed with interlaced “L” marks, circa 1880 Measures: Height 14" (35cm) Width 7.5" (19cm) Depth 7.5" (19cm).

A large and impressive 19th century French 'Sevres' ormolu mounted painted porcelain covered urn. Cobalt-blue baluster form with tooled gilt bordering cartouche centered with hand painted romantic scene depicting a standing man and two ladies. The reverse side with landscape scene within a tooled gilt bordered cartouche. An intricately detailed gilded bronze wreath, wings and hinged ring handles flank each side of urn, conforming socle base with a gilt bronze rim with continuous acanthus leaf detail, gilt bronze shapely plinth.
