About the Item

Four small Chinese Qing Dynasty period green glazed ceramic rice wine jug vessels from the Hunan Province, priced and sold individually. Beckoning from the depths of Chinese history, this quartet of Qing Dynasty rice wine jug vessels from the Hunan Province orchestrates a symphony of artistry and tradition. Bathed in a sumptuous green glaze, each of these dainty ceramic gems celebrates a unique pattern – a testament to the artisans’ poetic flair and intricate craftsmanship. Let us journey through the tapestry of designs: Jug A (8" diameter x 12"H), at the leftmost, reveals stylized foliage and a bird a homage to the bounteous nature that cloaks the land. Through its curvaceous form, it breathes life into spaces. Next, Jug B (8" diameter x 11"H), captivates with its calligraphy (as if penning an ancient love letter or a poignant poem), bird and stylized flowers – perhaps a symbol of beauty, purity, and grace. The tapering lines create a harmonious ballet of proportions. Jug C (7.75" diameter x 11.5"H), features simple calligraphy, a bird perched on a tree and foliage. It is a tangible whisper of words lost in time. The symphony concludes with Jug D (8" diameter x 11.5"H) on the right. A bird take flight, perhaps symbolizing freedom, alternates with foliage and flowers. The darker accents on motifs harmonize with the vibrant green glaze, creating depth and dynamism. The vessels boast circular mouths and simple, elegant lines tapering gently towards the bottom, in a quiet ode to timeless grace. Whether adorning a mantelpiece, clustered as a centerpiece, or gracing a traditional setup, these rice wine jugs convey stories and artistry from a bygone era. Priced and sold individually, each jug is an emblem of heritage, an heirloom to be cherished.
