About the Item

Impressive Art Nouveau Emile Galle Cameo landscape vase, 7 1/2 inches tall, in a variety browns and yellows with a hint of opal, signed in cameo, produced circa 1910 (Provost Mk III -see key- last image) Almost certainly a Louis Hestaux design and one of the earliest detailed Landscape cameos. It depicts a pastoral aquatic landscape scene with a dramatic high detail tree to the front, with bushes, a hill, and gentle stream to the sides and back. The opal layer gives the feel of an early morning mist or haze, signed in cameo visible bottom left corner of image 1 and image 5.
