About the Item
Argy-Rousseau's exquisite Farniente ("Youth") is a stunning "pillow vase" with a flared mouth, seamlessly blending historical and artistic influences. The vase's body is adorned with a backdrop of stylized Japanese chrysanthemum petals, intricately crafted in mottled amethyst pâte de verre, accented by cartouches of white and translucent cameo glass. One side features a graceful female figure gently stroking her ankle, while the other depicts a kneeling woman with outstretched arms in a serene pose.
