About the Item

A French Art Nouveau pâte de verre vase, this work by Gabriel Argy-Rousseau is entitled "Le Jardin des Hespérides (Garden of the Hesperides)." The vase depicts a motif of Grecian women animatedly picking the harvest of a lush apple tree. The entire composition is attractively hued, in effusive pinkish-purples and pastel-like reds. The lower portion of the vase is in darker red, resembling a floor, with a Greek key motif. Item #: G-19183 Artist: Gabriel Argy-Rousseau Circa: 1926 Dimensions: 9.5 " height, 6.5" diameter Materials: Pâte de verre glass Signed: "G.
