About the Item
A striking vintage Murano art glass vase attributed to Carlo Scarpa for Venini, showcasing the refined elegance and technical mastery characteristic of Scarpa’s early designs. This rounded, weighty piece features a deep emerald-green core enveloped in clear glass, enhanced with an exquisite bullicante (controlled bubble) pattern. The interior is richly accented with shimmering gold foil, creating a mesmerizing interplay of light, color, and texture.
The controlled bubbles are evenly distributed in a classic matrix, a hallmark of fine Murano craftsmanship and closely associated with Scarpa’s work for Venini during the 1930s and 1940s. The gold inclusions intensify toward the center, giving the object a luminous, almost celestial effect when viewed in natural or directional light.
Heavy, perfectly polished, and beautifully proportioned, this vase serves as both a sculptural decorative object and a superb example of traditional Venetian glassmaking elevated by modernist sensibilities. A refined addition to any Murano glass collection or mid-century design interior.
