About the Item
For this unique beautiful bud shaped glass vase, a team of glass blowers first pulled white and amethyst glass canes. When cold, the cane is cut into rods and laid into a striped pattern, which is then again reheated and rolled up onto the glass bulb. Here, the glass rods are carefully interlaced, sealed at the top and subsequently blown into shape.
This process creates our signature pieces with distinctive patterns, ensuring that each vase is truly one of a kind. Every Moonarij vase is stamped and individually numbered on the underside.
Founded in 2022 in Berlin, our collections are handcrafted in collaboration with small studios in the region honoring the artisans who uphold the local rich glassmaking heritage. Voluminous in shape, iridescent in colour and with meticulously-crafted patterns, hand-blown and hand-sculptured Moonarij vases stand out as mesmerizing objects of beauty.

MOONARIJ. Unique handcrafted vases. Moonarij was born from a passion for vases. During her childhood in Egypt, Johanna loved the clay vases holding cool water she saw in the streets of Cairo, nurturing her deep appreciation of vases as expressions of art and craftsmanship as old as humanity itself. Adorned with ornaments, these vases trace their origins to the dawn of human expression. Among the earliest artifacts ever created, vases remain one of the most cherished forms in our lives today. Founded in 2022 in Berlin, our distinctive collections are handcrafted in collaboration with small studios in the region honoring the artisans who uphold the local rich glassmaking heritage. Moonarij‘s vases are Johanna’s personal tribute to the enduring artistry and cultural significance of vessels. Each vase is a great keeper. Of flowers, of trinkets, of your treasures.
