Höganäs Keramik was founded in 1909 by Sigfrid Johansson and Karl Andersson, originally named Andersson
Johansson’s Pottery Factory. The company exhibited at the Baltic Exhibition in Malmö in 1914. In 1926, they transitioned entirely to stoneware, and in 1948 the factory became a limited company. The iconic Old Höganäs series was introduced at the 1955 H55 exhibition in Helsingborg, inspired by traditional salt-glazed utilitarian ware. The official name Höganäs Keramik was adopted in 1967. Factory operations continued until 2008, when production moved abroad.
