Hand-painted earthenware, marked underneath “Gouda Holland”, with model number 812.
This striking vase exemplifies the celebrated Gouda pottery tradition, renowned for its richly colored glazes and stylized floral motifs. The ovoid body rises from a slightly flared foot to a slender neck with everted lip, fully decorated in polychrome enamels against a deep, lustrous black ground. The hand-painted decoration features bold stylized flowers and foliate patterns in shades of green, red, violet, and yellow with fine gilt highlights, typical of the Art Nouveau and early Art Deco transition in Dutch decorative arts.
Good overall condition with minor wear and light surface craquelure consistent with age. Small glaze imperfections visible on the neck, not uncommon in hand-decorated Gouda wares.
