Jais Nielsen (1885–1961) was a Danish painter and ceramic artist, known for his expressionist style and religious themes. He joined Royal Copenhagen in the 1920s and quickly became one of the factory’s most distinctive and innovative artists. Nielsen created unique stoneware pieces with complex forms and experimental glazes, often depicting biblical or mythological scenes. His sung-glazed vases and reliefs are today considered masterpieces of Danish ceramic art.
