About the Item
Exceptional Japanese contemporary museum quality decorative porcelain vase, a signed masterpiece by an award-winning master artist and the younger of a two-brother team of master porcelain artists working in the historic Imari-Arita region of southern Japan. This artist is second-to-none in creating extremely complicated geometric patterns by applying the most sophisticated and demanding techniques of miniature painting to the complex and curved surfaces of porcelain pieces.
This mesmerizing piece features one of the artist's beloved signature geometric pattern extremely intricately hand painted in the artist's signature miniature technique in deep underglaze blue and generous gold details, set against a pristine white background, while the neck of the vase features the ssame pattern in gold on a stunning red background, creating a fascinating contrast. The geometric progression on the top all the way to the rim is carefully calibrated to create a kaleidoscopic effect.
It comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist.
