About the Item

Exquisite Japanese contemporary decorative porcelain vase, intricately hand painted in blue, green, purple and red on a beautifully shaped ovoid porcelain body, a signed piece by highly acclaimed master porcelain artist of Japan’s Imari-Arita region. The artist is the recipient of numerous awards for his exceptional porcelain work and his unique signature gold and platinum work on porcelain. In 2016, the British Museum added a work by this artist to its collection of contemporary Japanese porcelain in the Imari-Arita polychrome enamel tradition. The artist's profile is available upon request. The body of this vase is the perfect canvas for a scene of stunning wisterias in full bloom presented in purple and peach and elegant vines, gracefully hanging to decorate the surface of this magnificent piece on an intricate seamless fish scale background in red and white, untamed waves representing the ephemeral nature of physical existence. The auspicious fish scale pattern symbolizes continuous waves, a wish for a steady and peaceful life and longevity. Lovely swallos in blue underglaze are in flight above this stunning scene. This elegant porcelain vase comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist. Dimensions: H 12.5 in D 14 in.
