Korean antique pottery jar/amazing natural glaze vase/excavated earthenware

About the Item

We have a unique Japanese aesthetic sense. And only we can introduce unique items through our purchasing channels in Japan and the experience we have gained so far, in such a way that no one else can imitate. This is an old Korean pottery. Korea was once divided into three kingdoms (1st century B.C. to 7th century A.D.). This pottery was mainly made in Silla, one of the three kingdoms, a large country that included present-day Seoul. Soft unglazed earthenware, which was fired at low temperatures during the Three Kingdoms period, began to be fired at high temperatures around the middle of the 4th century. Firing at high temperatures of over 1000 degrees Celsius makes the pottery harder and more resistant to cracking. The color of the pottery is light or dark gray. When tapped with a finger, it makes a metallic sound. It was used for practical purposes, ritual vessels, and also as burial objects for powerful people. It is believed to date from the 5th to 7th centuries. A pot with a similar shape was published in the art book, so I will post the image. The unique design of this vase is that there are several horizontal stripes that are evenly spaced, and between the stripes is a wave-like pattern drawn with a comb. This pattern is often seen on pot-shaped pottery of Silla. Most notably, it is fired at a high temperature in the kiln, and ash falls on it, which melts and becomes a natural glaze, revealing many beautiful streaks. Very few natural glazes are as beautiful as this one. It reaches the artistic realm. It's a fairly rare condition. There is a slight chipping in the upper ridge, but as an excavated item there are almost no scratches and the condition is very good. The color is also calm gray, so it is suitable for any space. I put about 1/2 of the water in it and left it for about 12 hours, but it didn't leak. Why not add it to your antique collection? Weight: 1.6kg.
