Superb large, highly decorative Art Deco vase in blue and black.
Léon Pointu (1879-1942) was a French ceramicist active in the early 20th century, known for his stoneware and earthenware pieces in the Art Nouveau style. He worked for a long time in Vallauris. His works are distinguished by simple shapes, stylized floral decorations, and glazes in natural tones. Léon Pointu contributed to the revival of utilitarian and artistic ceramics at a time of profound evolution in the decorative arts.
