About the Item

Large Arts Crafts Hammered Copper Jug, c.1900 A striking Arts Crafts period copper jug of tall tapering form with a bold flared spout and sweeping riveted handle. The hand-hammered surface gives a richly textured appearance, catching the light and enhancing the natural warmth of the copper. The base shows evidence of old soldering, consistent with hand-crafted manufacture. Honest wear, small dinks, and surface marks are present, adding to the authentic character of the piece. A decorative and functional object very much in the spirit of the Arts Crafts movement.
