About the Item

A large handblown green glass vase attributed to Reijmyre Glasbruk, Sweden, circa 1960s. Known for its vibrant coloration and impeccable Scandinavian craftsmanship, Reijmyre produced a number of bold yet restrained designs during the mid-century period—this piece among them. The vase is formed in a squat, decanter-like silhouette with a wide, rounded base that gradually tapers into a thick, flared neck. The stretched form of the handblown glass creates a subtle gradient and visible tension in the material—details that speak to its artisan production. The rim is finished with a slight dark edge, adding a refined outline to the organic shape. Measuring 30 cm in diameter and 28 cm in height, the vase works beautifully as a sculptural centrepiece or as a vessel for large floral arrangements. Its vivid green hue and distinctive proportions make it especially appealing for collectors of Scandinavian glass or mid-century modern decor. Condition: Good vintage condition with minor surface wear consistent with age and use.

Green Opaline Jadeite Glass Trumpet Vase, Empoli Italy, 1960s
By Stelvia, Empoli
Located in Glasgow, GB
An elegant pale green opaline glass trumpet vase, attributed to Stelvia of Empoli, Italy, likely produced as part of the Opalina Fiorentina range, circa 1960s. This mid-century vase is a fine example of jadeite glass—a softly translucent type of opaline glassware popularised by Stelvia and echoed in the work of Murano glassmakers during the same period. Handblown in mint green opaline glass, the vase features a classical trumpet silhouette: a flared conical body tapering into a rounded base, poised on a slender stem with a gently splayed foot. The opaline surface captures ambient light beautifully, producing a softly luminous, milky glow characteristic of the Stelvia opaline glass from this era. Measuring 18 cm in height and 12 cm in diameter, the vase is in very good vintage condition. A single, pinpoint chip to the outer rim is visible only under close inspection and has been clearly documented in photographs. There are no cracks, repairs, or clouding to note. It works beautifully as a standalone glass accent or grouped with other Italian opaline glass vessels in complementary pastel shades such as lilac, baby blue, or alabaster. A timeless piece for collectors of vintage Italian glassware...
