About the Item
Gorgeous, and large, vintage Murano hand blown opalescent "Chalcedony" surface Italian art glass vase with large flowers and vines motif. The vase is signed underneath with name and date. I am unsure of what the name actually is, but it has a first and last name. It is also dated '86. The vase is created in the manner of designer Aldo Nason, so maybe an artist from his studio. The vase has 3 different flowers around, 2 bright pink and one dark. The piece is made of opal glass, with the "Chalcedony" technique applied over it. The technique uses chemical oxides, silver and gold leaf to create the textures and colors. You can see some gold flecks around the pink flower is still present. Would make a great display piece on any dinning table, credenza or mantel. Fill it with fresh flowers or just showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Measures 13 3/4" tall x 8" wide.
