About the Item

This large ceramic vessel features a striking reddish-brown glaze, rich in tone and evenly applied with a high-gloss finish. Its bold silhouette—narrow at the base, swelling through the midsection, and gently tapering toward a wide mouth—offers a sculptural presence suitable for display on the floor or a low pedestal. The surface reveals faint traces of hand-finishing, giving depth and nuance to its minimalist form. Visible on the interior is a prominent crack, which is structurally relevant and the reason for its reduced price. While this flaw limits the piece's use for holding water or heavy contents, it remains stable for decorative display purposes. The clay body and glaze reveals artisan studio production from the 20th century. This type of form is typical of modern interpretations of traditional storage jars but with an emphasis on clean lines and material expression. Despite the crack, the scale, glaze, and form make this an excellent candidate for dry floral arrangements, sculptural installations, or purely aesthetic placement in residential or commercial interiors.
