About the Item

A beautiful hand-painted ground vase by one of Finland’s leading decorative ceramic artists, Laila Zink. Manufactured by Kupittaan Savi Oy in mid-century Finland, this piece features Zink’s signature themes of children and flowers – motifs she returned to often, filled with warmth, joy and a playful naïvety that makes her work so recognizable. Highly sought after by collectors, Zink’s objects combine charm, intuition and artistic expression in a way that remains uniquely Finnish and deeply personal. The vase is in good condition with no cracks or other issues. Signed to the bottom. Kupittaan Savi Oy was a Finnish ceramic company founded in 1918 in Turku. While the factory originally focused on brick production, by the 1930s it began moving into ceramic art and tableware, and eventually became known for its high-quality handmade decorative items. Over the years, Kupittaan Savi gained a strong following both within Finland and internationally, and artists like Laila Zink played a significant role in shaping the company’s artistic identity and success.
