This exceptional ceramic vase was handcrafted and signed by Spanish artist Manuel Millet in 1988, in Catalonia. The piece reflects Millet’s refined mastery of form and surface, where sculptural rhythm and pictorial decoration merge into a single expressive language.
The ovoid body is richly decorated with a pair of stylized swans, their wings interlaced in a mosaic of geometric textures and earthy tones. The intricate hand-engraved motifs combine brown, ochre, turquoise, and ivory glazes, producing a tactile depth enhanced by subtle metallic highlights. This elaborate composition evokes both Catalan modernist sensibilities and a post-Art Deco graphic balance, characteristic of Millet’s mature period.
