A highly collectible “Trinidad” vase designed by Mari Simmulson for Upsala Ekeby, Sweden, during the 1950s–60s. This cylindrical stoneware vase features Simmulson’s signature sculptural texture with vertical ridges and a dynamic glaze in earthy grey, white, and muted brown tones.
The tactile, lava-like surface combined with vertical gloss-glazed stripes gives the piece a modernist yet organic presence. Part of Simmulson’s renowned series for Upsala Ekeby, the Trinidad model reflects her bold yet restrained design language — rooted in Scandinavian Modern aesthetics with influences from global decorative traditions.
