About the Item
A finely made Japanese Meiji period cloisonne enamel vase decorated with multiple enamel medallions set against a textured charcoal ground. Each panel presents a different scene, including flowers, birds, and a striking aquatic medallion featuring fish swimming among water plants. The enamel work is vivid, well detailed, and balanced across the form.
The neck and foot are finished with classic Meiji geometric borders in turquoise, red, yellow, and green. The interior is coated in the traditional turquoise enamel.
