About the Item

A distinguished piece of Swedish design history: the "Kungavasen" (The King's Vase) by renowned maker Ystad-Metall. This solid brass vase earned its royal name when Sweden's King Gustav V (who reigned from 1907 to 1950) personally purchased one from the Ystad-Metall store in 1935. The design bridges Art Deco and Scandinavian Modern, with an elegantly flared silhouette enhanced by vertical ribbing and delicate leaf motifs at the base. Years have graced the brass with a handsome patina that adds depth and character—a beautiful combination of graceful form, expert craftsmanship, and royal history. The vase remains in good vintage condition with minor surface wear appropriate to its age.
