About the Item

A Doulton Lambeth Silicon Ware vase, made in the late 19th century in the Arts Crafts style. Doulton Lambeth introduced its Silicon Ware in 1880, and production continued until about 1914. This vase reflects the ware's most popular colorway of white and pale blue decoration on a light brown body. The applied decorative motifs show a combination of geometric and floral designs, creating an almost Gothic-esque air to the vase. The vase is marked Doulton Lambeth Silicon England on the base, indicating a production date around the turn of the century. Dimensions: 7 in. H x 3.25 in Dm at opening Condition: Good. Very minor scuffs and wear throughout. References: Desmond Eyles and Louise Irvine, The Doulton Lambeth Wares (Somerset: Richard Dennis, 2002), 166-70.
