Baccarat (French, founded 1764), circa 1885. Stunning appearance to this white opaline vase which stands an impressive 15.5" tall and flared wing span of 11.375" wide. The vase has a heavily gilded rim, Renaissance or Rococo style decorations in a vibrant blue with gild detailing throughout the main body. Which is raised on a matching gilt bronze base (5.5" w) of superb quality. This large scale piece will command your attention where ever it adorns your home. Between the fine craftsmanship of the prestigious firm Baccarat and the quality of French opaline glass; it is arguably the greatest combination of glass artistry of the late 19th century period. Provenance: From the collection of a Hoboken NJ estate filled with important Empire furnishings.
