About the Item

A beautiful tulip vase in opalescent pinkish-orange marigold carnival glass. The glass is almost iridescent. The color has marigold iridescence. It is wonderful. This vase is very decorative and its color is sparkling and pop. Probably manufactured by the Dugan Company in the USA between 1905 and 1913. The Dugan Glass Company was a decorative glass manufacturer based in Indiana, Pennsylvania. The company was in business from 1905 to 1913. Carnival glass is molded or pressed glass that has had an iridescent luster applied to the surface. The name carnival glass was adopted by collectors in the 1950s because the items were sometimes given away as prizes at carnivals, fetes, and fairs. However, there is evidence that the vast majority of these items were purchased by households to light homes at a time when only the wealthy could afford powerful electric lighting, as their finish catches light even in dark corners.
