About the Item
Japanese cloisonné vase from the Meiji period.
Brass body decorated with polychrome enamel in blue, green, white and iron red on a turquoise ground. Ornamented with floral and foliate designs, geometric borders and stylised motifs, executed in cloisonné technique with finely delineated gilt wires.
The handles are shaped as traditional mask-and-tongue ornaments.
Age-related patina and wear.
