About the Item
Large pierced, hand-blown studio art glass vase, in a Mid-Century Modern style with visual characteristics including swirl patterns, cased glass, gold inclusions, and a central hole design.
The vase features a unique, sculptural "donut" shape with a central hole. The cased glass design incorporates vibrant swirls of orange, brown, tan, white and purple, along with gold flecks or inclusions.
It is hand-blown art glass, a process indicated by the inherent variations and occasional air bubbles and a polished bottom.
While specific makers can be difficult to identify without a signature or original label, this style is common among Italian Murano-style producers and other international studio glass artists from the 1960s and 1970s onwards.
