About the Item

This tall mid-century modern bottle vase was designed by Swedish artist Arthur Percy for Gullaskruf Glasbruk in the 1950s. Hand-blown in pale blue art glass, the vase features a distinct modernist form—a rounded base that transitions into a long, elegantly tapering neck. Its smooth, minimal silhouette reflects Percy’s signature approach to Scandinavian glass design. Arthur Percy, known for his influential role as artistic director at Gullaskruf, helped define postwar Swedish glassmaking. This large sculptural vase is a strong representation of his work, combining functional proportions with soft coloration and modernist clarity. Measuring 16 inches in height with a diameter of approximately 4.5 inches at the base, the vase is in very good vintage condition. Minor surface wear is present, consistent with age and use. No cracks or chips. An excellent collector's piece for those drawn to mid-century Scandinavian glassware, Swedish modernism, or the work of Arthur Percy.
