About the Item

A Mod. 7607 'corroso' glass vase by Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d’Arte, Italy, c.1940. This example, in a rare 'pagliasco' (straw) colour glass, showcases the refined experimentation that defined Poli’s work. Crafted using acid, the 'corroso' (corroded) glass technique results in a richly textured, stone-like quality that helps to subtly diffuse the light. The twisted, controlled rotation of the glass produces a gentle, continuous vortex that appears to move upward throughout the form. The Mod. 7607 is the largest of five vases that were produced for this particular design - A rare and collectible piece from the masters at Seguso Vetri d'Arte.
