About the Item

A striking Murano glass solifleur vase by Vincenzo Nason, handcrafted in Italy in the 1970s using the sommerso technique. This elegant teardrop-shaped vase features a delicate inner layer of smoked grey glass, suspended within a casing of clear Murano crystal—showcasing the refined craftsmanship synonymous with Italian art glass of the period. Its cool tonality and minimalist silhouette distinguish it from the brighter, more exuberant sommerso vases of mid-century Murano, making it especially appealing to collectors of Modernist Italian design. The vase stands 31.5 cm tall, with a width of 10 cm and a depth of 6 cm. It remains in very good vintage condition, with only minor wear to the polished base, commensurate with age. The original V. Nason C. Murano Italy foil label is still affixed to the front, adding to its authenticity and appeal. An ideal addition to a curated collection of 1970s Murano glass, vintage Italian vases, or modern decorative objects.
