About the Item

Murano Glass Vase Attributed to Anzolo Fuga for A.Ve.M., Italy, circa 1950s A spectacular Murano glass vase attributed to renowned Venetian glass artist Anzolo Fuga for A.Ve.M. (Arte Vetraria Muranese), handcrafted on the island of Murano near Venice, Italy, circa the 1950s. This striking piece features an elegant ovoid form, with glasswork that masterfully blends deep red hues fading upward into a soft dusty blue, evoking the mesmerizing glow of a burning star. The effect is both dramatic and ethereal — a true testament to the artistry and innovation of Murano’s mid-century glassmakers. A stunning collector’s piece, this vase captures the essence of Fuga’s experimental approach to color and form. Measurements: Height: 17 cm / 6.7 in Perimeter (widest part): 43 cm / 17 in About the Artist: Born in 1914, Anzolo Fuga hailed from one of Murano’s most distinguished glassmaking families. His father, Emilio Fuga, directed the Cristalleria di Venezia e Murano, while his mother, Adelaide Barovier, was the daughter of Giuseppe Barovier, linking him to the legendary Barovier Toso dynasty. Fuga studied at the Istituto d’Arte di Venezia and, between 1955 and 1968, designed for A.Ve.M., one of Murano’s most important glasshouses. He passed away in 1988, leaving behind an extraordinary body of work that remains highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
