An elegant example of mid-century Murano glass, this tall bud vase by Galliano Ferro demonstrates the refined application of the sommerso technique, where one layer of glass is delicately encased within another.
Crafted in the 1950s, the vase features a core of deep ruby red glass suspended within a thick outer casing of uranium glass—its subtle yellow-green tint catching ambient light with a quiet glow, and fluorescing vividly under UV illumination.
The form is restrained yet organic, echoing the fluidity of molten glass as it cools. The flattened, wide base narrows into a slender, elongated stem—its scale ideal for a single stem or as a standalone sculptural object. At 28 cm high, 10 cm wide, and 3 cm deep, the vase holds a commanding yet refined presence.
In good vintage condition, with light signs of age and wear consistent with careful handling. Retains the original Galliano Ferro paper label to the base—a discreet but significant detail for collectors of authentic Murano glass.
