About the Item
A handblown Murano glass vase from the Sasso series by NasonMoretti, the historic Venetian glasshouse founded in 1923. Of biomorphic oval form, this example features alternating vertical panels of deep forest green and translucent bilberry-violet glass, achieved through the sommerso technique in which layers of colored crystal are fused under heat to produce seamless tonal transitions and exceptional optical depth. The vase’s soft, pebble-like silhouette (the Italian sasso) captures the firm’s modernist restraint and precision craftsmanship.
Etched NASONMORETTI signature to the base; retains original label and presentation box labeled Art. SASSO.11.A / Vaso Diritto Verde Mirtili with accompanying booklet. This series reflects the firm’s continued innovation in color chemistry and form, harmonizing sculptural minimalism with the chromatic brilliance for which Murano glass is internationally esteemed.
