About the Item

Danish Art Deco vase by Nils Thorsson for Aluminia (later brandname Royal Copenhagen). The vase is from the "Solbjerg" series which was designed by Nils Thorsson in 1933 to 1936 and some of the pieces were in production until 1970. This vase was manufactured ca. 1950s. The vase comes in a very dark brown and it is decorated with very fine stripes showing the beige white clay. The series was exhibited at the Brussels International Exhibition in 1935 and was honored with the Grand Prix. Marked on bottom with Aluminia backstamp. The vase is a factory first edition and in a very good vintage condition.
