Marselis vase by Nils Thorsson (1898-1975) manufactured by Aluminia later Royal Copenhagen in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The pear-shaped faience vase features a maroon brown glaze over a design of small squares The surface is tactile.
Nils Thorsson designed pieces for the "Marselis" series from the early 1950s to 1970. The first pieces were shown to the public at his anniversary exhibition in 1952. He designed at least 24 different pieces for this series.
Marked on bottom with A for Aluminia + Denmark + the initials of Nils Thorsson and model no. 2631
