About the Item

A unique piece goblet by Oiva Toikka. Details are unknown, but it is made of the same rough bubble glass used in IGLU (1973), PUTELI (1975), PIENNAR (1975), etc. Oiva Toikka won the Lunning Prize in 1970 and used the prize money to travel for four months to West Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda) and then to Central and South America (Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru). This glass was inspired by glass made from impure materials using primitive equipment he saw during his visit to Mexico. It is thought to have been designed around 1973-75. Signed “Oiva Toikka Nuutajärvi Notsjö”. This is a very rare item. *In good condition with no noticeable damage.
