The term "Nippon" refers to porcelain objects stamped with the word "Nippon" on their bases, which was a mark used on Japanese ceramics for export to the United States from approximately 1885 to 1921. The vases are hand-painted with floral motifs and feature intricate gold detailing, which is a common characteristic of Nippon porcelain. These vases are known for their high-quality craftsmanship, featuring intricate designs, raised gold accents (moriage), floral motifs, and sometimes Art Nouveau styles, created for the export market.
