About the Item
Emilia Castillo is a celebrated figure in modern Mexican silver design and comes from one of the most important silversmithing families in Taxco. She is the daughter of Antonio Castillo, co-founder of the legendary Los Castillo workshop, which played a pivotal role in shaping mid-20th-century Mexican modernism. Emilia Castillo carried this legacy forward while establishing her own design language, recognized for its organic forms, sculptural presence, and incorporation of natural materials such as stone, wood, and silver-plated metals. Her works are highly sought after by collectors of Taxco silver, Mexican modern design, and post-war decorative arts.
