Storyteller: Lily was raised in a depressing orphanage outside of Paris. She was always drawn to the beauty of the world, but her circumstances prohibited her from exploring it. She stared out the window for hours, daydreaming of life outside the orphanage. While on a headmistress errand, Lily came across an antique shop. Through the glass, she noticed two stunning opaline blue vases. The vases reflected light beautifully, and the enigmatic gold gilding around the neck and on the top crowns gave them an elegance Lily had never seen before. Lily frequently went to the antique shop to look at the vases. Lily's fascination with the vases was noticed by Henri, the shop's sweet old owner, who explained to her about their history and how they were made in France in the late 1800s and early 1900s. He talked about their historical significance and how the opaline blue glass captured light superbly. As Lily spent more time in the shop, Henri educated her about antiques and their histories. She noticed the beauty in ancient and abandoned antiques and realized she, too, had a story to tell. Lily grew up to become an antiques specialist and a well-known businesswoman. She was able to save enough money to purchase the pair of opaline blue vases that had inspired her. Her fellow orphans were awestruck by their beauty. every time they gazed at the vases. Lily then told the story of the vases. She even encouraged children to value neglected, ancient objects. After that, Lily became the girl who saw beauty in everything. Her interest in antiques grew as she influenced the views of her fellow orphans. Every time she gazed at her prized opaline blue vases, she was reminded of unexpected beauty.
